About ACATS

"A.C.A.T.S."
An Association For The Catfish Angler

A.C.A.T.S. was founded in June of 2000 by Dennis Rice the now acting president of A.C.A.T.S.. Dennis being a lifelong catfisherman had seen a need for quality Catfish Tournaments at an affordable cost to anglers in Eastern Oklahoma known as Green Country. While the Bass circuit was going strong Dennis set out to fulfill his dream, having the best Catfish Tournament Trail in the US. Realizing it would be no easy task and would take 1000's of hours and dollars, he promoted his first tournament June 3, 2000 called the Catfish Round-Up 2000. On a shoe string budget and little to no knowledge of promoting a tournament, the Catfish Round-Up was a great success, so successful he promoted his second tournament in August of 2000 and almost doubled the number of entries from his first tournament. At that time he decided he would go full steam ahead and formed the American Catfish Anglers Tournament Series known as A.C.A.T.S..

Now going into it's eighth year A.C.A.T.S. is growing strong with members from all over the United States and with tournaments in three states A.C.A.T.S. is well on it's way to being the biggest and best Catfish Association in the country. It is an Association for the Catfish Angler ran by Catfish Anglers and is dedicated to promoting good family values and the Great Outdoors.

A.C.A.T.S. MISSION STATEMENT

It is the goal of Dennis Rice Outdoors to provide quality catfish tournaments to all anglers at an affordable cost, with the highest possible pay outs, while uniting catfish anglers from all areas of the US, promoting good family values, good sportsmanship and teaching the youth to respect and enjoy the Great Outdoors.
